Something wondrous: Discoveries from the Schmidt Ocean Institute

With help from the Schmidt Ocean Institute, scientists recently discovered a field of hydrothermal vents about 6,500 feet underneath the Gulf of California, where they observed tall mineral structures that host a diverse array of marine life.
